Air Sparging

Air Sparging is an in-situ remediation technique used to treat groundwater contaminated with volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as petroleum hydrocarbons or dry cleaning solvents cuch as Tetrachloroethylene (aka Perchloroethylene or PCE). By injecting air directly into the saturated zone, Air Sparging promotes the volatilization and biodegradation of contaminants, effectively breaking them down beneath the surface. Often used in combination with soil vapor extraction, this method enhances oxygen levels and stimulates microbial activity to accelerate cleanup.

Converse designs and installs customized Air Sparging systems based on site-specific geology and contaminant characteristics. With years of hands-on experience in implementing Air Sparge technologies, our team focuses on optimal system performance and regulatory compliance. From pilot testing and design through full-scale operation and monitoring, Converse provides complete, cost-effective solutions that support rapid remediation and long-term site stability.
